Who should come on this trip?
Our trip participants tend to be women who are traveling on their own but who don't want to be on their own all the time and who are interested in our itineraries which ensure that they'll see and experience more than they would on their own. Our trips are perfect for solo travelers as everyone has his/her own room, and there's no single supplement. We walk a lot here in Paris, so you'll need to be able to walk, go up and down stairs, and get on and off of public transportation like metros and buses. The most important things are that you are able to move around easily and ready to have fun.
How do I sign up?
Once you've read our Terms and Conditions and are ready to register for the trip, click on the "Register Now" button. You will receive email instructions for paying your deposit, reserving your hotel room, and paying the balance owed by the deadline. Be sure to register early. Space is limited.
Is the hotel included?
Of course! A single hotel room including breakfast and the daily city tax is included in the price of the trip, but as we are not a travel “agency,” we cannot make individual reservations for hotel stays; however, we have negotiated a preferential package and rate with our partner hotel for you. Upon receiving your deposit, your hotel room will be “blocked” at the negotiated rate. You must then contact the hotel and provide them with the information we give you and your payment information in order to reserve your room at our preferential rate and in your name. The amount allocated for the hotel will be deducted from the balance owed to Paris Personally and be paid directly to the hotel at check-out.
Are flights included?
No. You are fully responsible for all travel to and from Paris. At our first get-together after your arrival on Sunday, you will receive your Pass Navigo for use on Paris's public transportation system. Your Pass Navigo will cover zones 1 – 5 which includes travel on the Paris Metro, buses, trams, and RER for all of Paris including the airports. Taxis, Ubers, and any other travel not covered by the Pass Navigo are not included.
Is trip insurance required?
We cannot require you to purchase travel insurance, but we strongly encourage you to consider it and also strongly encourage you to purchase it if you are covered by Medicare as Medicare does not cover medical expenses when outside of the US. If you are not on Medicare, check with your medical insurer to see if you are covered when outside of the US. If not, or depending on the coverage that you have, consider purchasing a special travel medical travel policy including evacuation insurance. Trip cancellation and/or interruption insurance are also worth considering; please note our cancellation/refund policy below. Check with your credit card issuer as well as yours may offer limited coverage. There are many things to consider with travel insurance, but the considerations are different for everyone. We encourage you to get all of your questions answered, and be sure that you know what you are buying.
What travel documents do I need?
If you are a US citizen, you will need a valid US passport with an expiration date at least 6 months beyond your return date. If you are not a US citizen, please check with your government to determine travel documents required to travel to France. You will also need proof that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Please see next question for specifics regarding Covid-19 requirements.
What are the current requirements for entering France relevant to Covid-19?
In order to enter France, you must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Currently only the Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are accepted for entry into France. Travelers must also be fully vaccinated, which occurs two weeks after the second dose of Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca, and four weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. You accept full responsibility for your vaccination status and agree to bring proof of your vaccination status (your valid vaccination card or other such proof) with you and to show it when asked. Paris Personally will not be held responsible for any problems arising due to non-compliance with France's vaccination requirements. Additionally, you agree to wear a mask whenever it is required or requested.
What are the physical requirements for this trip?
Paris is a walking city, so we walk a lot. We will take the metro and the buses as well, but you need to be able to walk up and down stairs, get onto and off of buses, walk on cobblestone streets, etc.
What is the hotel like?
We prefer boutique hotels that are charming and that feel like you’re in Europe as opposed to business hotels that look and feel like you could just as easily be in Boise. We partner with three-star hotels that have elevators and wi-fi and where you’ll always have a private in-room bathroom, but the rooms are often smaller than what you may be used to.
What should I wear?
Most importantly, comfortable shoes! We will be doing a lot of walking, and sneakers/tennis shoes are fine. In fact, they are quite fashionable in Paris these days. A comfortable pair of flats can also be a good choice. As for clothes, it’s best to keep an eye on the weather and pack layers and a scarf or two. And you'll want to leave the diamonds and other flashy jewelry at home.
What is the cost of the trip in my currency?
All trip prices are quoted in Euros because our clients come from different countries with different currencies. To convert prices into your local currency, use a currency converter like this one: https://www.xe.com/. Keep in mind that currency exchange rates fluctuate.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
In the event of cancellation, deposits made more than 90 days before trip start date are refundable for 30 days from the date received, after which time the deposit becomes nonrefundable. Deposits made fewer than 90 days before the trip start date are nonrefundable. Balances paid prior to 60 days before the trip start date are refundable, minus the deposit, up to 61 days before the trip start date. All payments made within 60 days of the trip start date are nonrefundable. Cancellations must be made in writing and become effective on the date that they are received by Paris Personally.
